Two Rockets Slam into Kirkuk Airbase in Iraq

(MENAFN) Two rockets slammed into the Kirkuk airbase in northern Iraq late Monday, sparking concern but fortunately causing no injuries or damage, according to a report from a local news agency.

A senior security official, speaking to the agency, revealed that the rockets, identified as Katyusha projectiles, were launched at the airbase. One of the rockets struck the area between the base's first and second runways, while the other hit a nearby residential house.

"The attack caused no casualties or damage," the source affirmed, stressing that the situation remains under control. At this time, no group has claimed responsibility for the assault. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
